ince shutting down the Chelsea resto two years ago, it’s been a battle for owners Gayle and Thomas Patrick-Odeen to make a break for SoHo. Unlike the twenty minutes Franke Potente had (in Run Lola Run), it’s taken two years to fight the authority and finally, the resto is ready to open to eager crowds anxious to relive the 100-spice fried chick and Sunday gospel brunch.
Chef Jennifer Printz is set to make those dishes a reality, and will rely on her experience at Payard and Le Cirque to do just that.

Lo'la? Tapas and martini bar? Sounds alot like Li'ly on College Street.... why can't people have a little more imagination in this city instead of ripping off other businesses names and concepts in Toronto and New York? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzz

Wow What a place to be at! I go to Lola's often and i must admit the drinks are awsome and the place is cozy.. I often go on Wednesday when its $5 Martini night and Wow the Bartender .. HOT!! i think his name is Dimitri ... Marry me. lol... However in the last few visits i've noticed that many grungy lesbian couples hang out at lola's .. If they want somewhere to hang out they should go to Slack's or the Mask.. I hope lola's doesn't become the next dyke bar..

I visited this place for the first time about two weeks ago. On a Saturday night, and the place was PACKED and happening!! Great music but not overwhelming or too loud. A hot bartender the first night I was there, I believe his name was Greg. It's always good to have something to look at when you're waiting for your drink. I went back last Wednesday and had a blast as well. The bartender that works on Wednesdays looks miserable and grumpy at all times, but the martinis are only $5 and they're 2.5 oz.... HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG? haha Anyways, all in all, this place is really cute and would be fantastic for a private party. The patio is well done and looks amazing with all the candles. I recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a chill place to hang out with your friends.

I seem to fall in and out of love with whichever martini bar fills this space. The latest incarnation is the best, although service can be lackadaisical at times. Overall, the place is gorgeous in a tasteful way, upscale without being pretentious and equally good for relaxing or revving up depending on the vibe that night and your own mood. I have yet to try the food, but rated it a 4 on speculation :).
As for the previous reviewer's comment about running out of martini glasses, I agree that it is cardinal sin, but it has never happened on any of my visits.

If you are looking for a martini bar without martini glasses-this is your place! Service without a smile-again your place! The price you pay for $5 Martinis on Wednesdays.
