f the name doesn’t scream cowboy, clearly you’ve shut out all things wild west since viewing
Brokeback Mountain (stop lying to yourself). Thus, I’d be much obliged to inform you about the Rockefeller Center Hotel’s pioneering adventure into the resto biz via Southwestern cuisine.
Visiting Southerners looking for a post-Conan taste of home can hang up their spurs at this ultimate urban cowboy eatery. Line dancing, cowboy hats, and a mechanical bull (oh yes, stagettes, prepare to be bucked) are all part of the fun. Just don't expect Conan to join you - yet! Oh, and be advised that you have to sign a waiver in order to ride the bull. I know you're excited, but angry mechanical livestock and alcohol can lead to injuries.
The resto looks like your rich oil-drilling uncle's fancy country house. The wallpaper harkens back to old-style country living with heavy patterns that feel like home. The chairs look like your mother upholstered them herself (but in a nice way). Chandeliers with antlers emit a soft, elegant glow. Overall, the look is country chic with just the right combination of class and comfort.
The interesting menu boasts authentic Southwestern fare. For starters, try guacamole, espinaca, queso fondito with fresh corn on tortillas or jalapenos stuffed with three cheeses. The entrees have the typical meat bent, from beer-braised pork belly, to smoked spareribs and Texas brisket. If you're not in the mood for a hunk of meat, try the smoked chicken pot pie or crispy catfish with sweet potato fries.
