ith a moniker that translates from Italian to mean “the hole”, it’s possible to get an idea of the tiny space in which this resto exists. Located in the East Village, the venue is full of locals, artists, actors, and the occasional celeb hiding from the paparazzi to snack on delicious Mediterranean cuisine prepared by Chef Ignacio Mattos.
The menu is full of pasta, meat and seafood dishes, however the Pappardelle ai Funghi - House-Made Pasta with Porcini and Black Trumpet Mushrooms – is a real knock out for fungus fans. Stumbling into the tiny space is a real treat for the taste buds as you can’t help but feel you’ve arrived in Nona’s kitchen.
