The bar hosts over 50 literary events each year - fitting, as two of the bar's three co-owners Scott Anderson and Sebastian Junger are published novelists. The third co-owner is Nanette Burstein,is an accomplished actress who hails from Buffalo. Now here's an interesting fact: all wood used in the construction of the Half King Bar in New York was salvaged from a 200-year old barn in Pennsylvania. The bar is open daily for breakfast, offering a complete menu. The kitchen closes at 2:00am but the bottles keep clinking for another two hours.
