F or now, the Upper West Side can boast of having only a few great Italian restaurants, the kind that serve amazing food at fair prices and where you never leave hungry or disappointed. One of these is Gennaro's - a cozy little place with a romantic ambiance despite the crowds, who you really can't blame for putting in the time for delicious Italian fare. The unofficial house specialty here is the Stinco Di Agnello (lamb shanks), which are cooked to perfection and served with a red wine cous cous. The pasta menu is short with just enough variety to please picky eaters. According to the grape vine, don't go home without trying the Tiramisu which is prepared the traditional way allowing each flavor to stand on its own.
