his resto is brought to you by Akhtar Nawab and Noel Cruz, who met while working at Craftbar. The dining room features a barn-wood ceiling, which adds a rustic flair to the spot, as well as brick walls and plank floors that exude warmth and create a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Nawab’s food is diverse and the menu focuses on seasonal fruit and veg meshed with aromatic spices and savoury meats. Expect to find dishes like pan-roasted sweetbreads and gnocchi done up with spinach and cloves.
Every good restaurant has something unique about it that makes it stand apart from the others. At Elettaria, their big thing is that this open-kitchen restaurant is located in the same spot where Jimi Hendrix used to pick away at his guitar. Does that mean there will be a ghost sharing your table for two? You'll have to inspect that for yourself.
Phantom dinner guests aside, when dining at this restaurant can start the evening off with foie gras torchon served with a delicious gooseberry chutney. Those with a sense of adventure should try the crispy pigs feet done up with watercress and cashews. As for mains, dig into wild boar done in cumin and orange sauce with vermicelli noodles. Seafood lovers will love the skate, which is served with confit potatoes in a rich coconut broth.
Desserts include fried coconut cream with braised pineapple, or rice pudding served with sweet rice and coconut sorbet. It's all enough to fill up even the most famished diner, so enjoy the diverse offerings. With a menu full of such amazing dishes, you're definitely going to want to return to try them all. -D.C.
