orld renowned chef Daniel Boulud is set to expand his culinary reach even further than the plethora of highly successful restaurants he now owns and operates in New York, Miami and Las Vegas.
Here's a rundown, if you're unfamiliar with the famed French culinary master. Boulud's culinary beginnings began humbly on a family farm outside Lyon where he no doubt got his first taste of traditional French cuisine. He left France to work in Copenhagen for a number of years before relocating to the US where he found himself in Washington, working as chef to the European Commission. Soon after, Boulud found himself in New York, the city he now calls home.
Working in a number of restaurants over the years, he finally opened his award winning Daniel, which was quickly given the prestigious title, 'One of the ten best restaurants in the world,' by the International Herald Tribune. Fast forward to the present and Boulud's newest endeavor is a casual-to-upscale eatery called DBGB set to open three blocks south of the location where last year, he was denied a liquor license. Don't expect to see $400 Iranian caviar on the menu (like at Daniel) this resto is said to be for "adults who appreciate great food and wines in a comfortable setting with a downtown vibe."
