Crafty Tom Colicchio has been spreading his craft franchise throughout NYC (and American for that matter) with a different variation in the theme for each. Obviously, this venue is alcohol-oriented with the noted bar theme.

The menu at Craftbar more rustic and less refined than the traditional Craft restaurant dish list, and purveys specialty sandwiches and light fare with a woodsy, earthy flavor (i.e. Duck Prosciutto with Fontina and Hen of the Woods Mushrooms). When Tom isn’t traveling around the world to his various American city outposts, you can often find the restaurateur dining (and often drinking) at the bar.

Great food, atmosphere and bar. We were a group of 8 there for the birthday so they automatically added a 20% service charge - which is fine - was was not was that the service was abysmal - it was so bad that we could never catch their eye.

Also had to ask 4 people for the same thing. They also had us wait 30 minutes beyond our reservation time to get our table even though the party was there and complete 15 minutes before our reservation time.

Despite this if you are a smaller group maybe it works better - I do recommend it for everything else

Tried Craftbar... disappointed. Found the space to be unsuited to the decor, the menu was over priced significantly and the portions were very small.
