true vegetarian restaurant, Candle Café purchases all of their ingredients from organic farmers to ensure your meal is pesticide free and without any genetic modification. An array of blended smoothies, farmacy cocktail concoctions (a Shot of Wheat Grass and you’re back to your old self), and appetizers (Guacamole, Asian Dumplings, Quesadilla) are a great way to start off the veg fest.
Moving onto mains, there are the usual salads and soy burgers, however some entrées get inventive like the Tuscan lasagna full of grilled zucchini, peppers and onions and topped with a tomato truffle sauce or the nutty Cashew Crusted Tofu with black rice pilaf, shiitake gingered greens and a butternut squash sauce. Vegheads that are still hungry for dessert can opt for a variety of baked treats (carrot cake and the like) or a superb slice of Pumpkin cheesecake with vanilla cream frosting. Giving up meat ain’t so bad after all!
