Are you tired of spending your days toiling in soul crushing corporate owned coffee chains or refer stained, slacker filled independent coffee shops? Frustrated by nights wasted in dank dives and florescent sports bars? Well, now you’ll never have to set foot in those terrible places again. A new place has opened on the upper East Side that is a trendy coffee shop by day before transforming into a classy wine bar at night.

Café Notte is specifically designed for an older, more refined crowd. This translates to an unfortunate lack of teenyboppers, but more cougars than you could ever dreamed possible. Consider yourself warned. Café Notte is the brainchild of restaurateur Nikola Camaj, the man behind the Zagat-loved romantic hotspot Ermina that’s conveniently located across the street from his latest venture.

Camaj opens shop at Café Notte at 7am, coffee is doled out to tired locals along with a parade of homemade granola, baked goods, and eggs baked with seasonal vegetables. The lunch and dinner menus are comprised of light fare, aimed to supplement the extensive wine list. A collection of tapas, paninis, soups, salads, desserts and small plate entrees are available, with a constantly changing menu that takes advantage of seasonal ingredients.

At 10pm the kitchen closes and the space transforms into a classy wine bar. Elegantly dressed people who make far more money than you would even dare to dream of will sip wine, flirt, and discuss topics you don’t understand. In other words, it’s the perfect place for anyone who wants to feel superior to the masses while slowly building up a power-drunk.

Café Notte is also co-owned by Steven Salsberg of the Salsberg group who will ensure that the place is environmentally friendly, making it a guilt free destination for hippies and wealthy left-wingers. If you can afford the frequently pricey bills, you just found your new favourite hangout. Time to validate that fresh credit card.
