Review by Lauren Denhartog |
ollow the Brick Lane to this curry house and you may just be tempted to compete in the P’hall of Fame – a competition in the tradition of gun draws where guests are challenged to eat a curry so hot that you are asked to sign a disclaimer just to try it. Besides the mean-hot curry, the restaurant boasts a menu of much lighter and milder fare as well. Sizzling specials include Tandoori ‘catch of the day’ for $15 or Parsi Macchi – fish filet rubbed with ground herbs and spices and poached in a plantain leaf. The restaurant also carries a number of often-hard-to-find vegan dishes like Bombay Aloo (potatoes) and Chana Masala (chickpeas) and Peeli Daal (yellow lentils). |
