Review by Scott Tavener |
erhaps, after Jules walked the Earth like Caine in Kung Fu, he to open an East Village French, jazz joint.
No, that's not what happened.
Are you sure?
Reasonably.
A self-professed fusion of Paris and Harlem jazz joints, Jules offers nightly Neal Cassidy-cheering acts of the goatee and suit jacket ilk. The decently priced menu - including a prix fixe option - is French all the way. Work on your pronunciation. The ambiance has a lived-in feel, lovingly warm and soothingly lit with exposed brick backdrop, Paris style. Freedom Fries can kiss Jules's sax. -S.T. |
