One of the most beautiful scenes of New York is taking a walk through the West Village or Central Park in the spring and deeply inhaling the intoxicating aromas of the Cherry Blossom trees. Coincidentally, this midtown diner opened this past Spring, and the moniker translates from Greek to the English word for blossom. Perhaps the spring opening wasn’t so coincidental after all?
The former Acqua Pazza space has been transformed into a monument to all things Greek but DO NOT expect the traditional bleached white, mock marble statues or Mediterranean blue color scheme. The restaurant comes by the way of the owners of Dona, Onera and Kefi with Chef Michael Psilakis helming the kitchen and purveying unique Greek cuisine that doesn’t fall prey to tradition. Opa!
