Review by Amy Chung |
know Manhattan is cozy, snug and the heartbeat of New York, but it doesn’t have Angon on the Sixth, apparently one of the best kept secrets in the East Village. This dimly-lit Indian restaurant has been gaining accolades from the New York Times to Zagat. Chef/Owner, Mina Avad, who left her Queen’s outpost, Mina’s Restaurant in Sunnyside is causing big waves in the culinary scene.
Serving up spicy tandoori, soft paneer and some house specialties like Dal Fry, fried mung dal cooked in spices and herbs, is worth the trip.–A.C
