classy little Manhattan-style venture whose rustic-chic decor echoes that of its neighbor, Grape and Grain, Against the Grain serves up a respectable list of beers from near and far. Judging by the decor, you may expect this joint to serve up fine wines and crab cakes but its menu caters to a more laid-back, frat house-type crew. Against the Grain keeps its food menu short and sweet but makes good use of that in-house special, beer. There's Beer Steamed Peel N Eat Shrimp, Beer Sausages and Beer Steamed Cockles. The beer menu divides its fine brews into five categories: white, pale, amber, dark and darker and uses small symbols to determine whether you can expect a draught, can, big can, bottle or big bottle.
