    Review by Sylvonna Beech
Nothing cures stress better than a plate of cheese and a glass of vino. The deep red colored liquid quickly seeps into those stress receptors and your muscles melt almost instantaneously for supreme relaxation. This new haven of small plate nibbles and vintage bottles comes care of bartenders Michael Lagnese and the hottest celebrity-sounding name in my opinion, Jonny Cohen.

Cheese, especially the creamy variety, visually and texturally reflects the desired effect of said “melted muscles” and only enhances the relaxation factor with a light salty touch. Is your mouth watering yet? If not, try any of their nibbles, like pigs-in-a-blanket, tuna sliders, or Littleneck clams. The also offer a plate of sliced cured meats, or even a warm salted pretzel. I would definitely order the warm pretzel with some mustard and a large glass of red.

The resto itself is quite laid back, as the owners are often wearing t-shirts inspired by cartoons. The atmosphere is meant to suggest drinking and lounging, while having an inspiring chat. Okay, the chat part may not happen (depending on how may bottles of wine you’ve drank), but the relaxed feel is sure to creep over you.

Wine, of course, is popular at this lounge. Their menu is not as gigantic as you’d think (considering the restaurant’s moniker), but it’s more so quality offerings than quantity. Wines are gathered from all over the world; Italy, California, France, Spain, Australia, Oregon, and more. Try sparkling or white if you’re not into the deep flavors of red. And the owners of 8th Street Wine Cellar are more than willing to take your suggestions for any wines you just can’t live without.
