Lit by the massive circular Gothic chandelier (think Dracula’s lair), ‘Cesca’s décor employs strong clean lines, soft white wall sconces and shads, and deep mahogany accents that creates a serious New York environment that means business. The only hint of Italy in the décor is the detailed cream walls and selection of artwork paying homage to some Italian Renaissance masters.
Executive Chef Kevin Garcia has crafted a menu that starts with equally understated Per La Tavola such as simple Marinated Olives and Spicy Parmigiano Fritters. The Antipasti course consists of simple accents to exotic ingredients such as the Grilled Octopus served with potatoes, green beans, celery & a roasted tomato vinaigrette. For the Primi course, the linguini (alla Vongole) dish is absolutely delicious with Manila clams and pepperoncini hidden throughout the wonderful wine, garlic and roasted tomato flavours. If you still have room for Secondi, the Rack of lamb is tender and succulent. Finally, Italians know how to do an amazing dessert so indulge in the Panna Cotta with berry compote to seal the deal. Bold décor and an understated menu is an excellent pairing to create a true Italian New York restaurant.
