aby boomers love celebrating the 1960s. During that decade they all came of age and decided to impart new values on the world by challenging the tyranny of older generations. It was an exciting time that offered new freedoms to minorities and changed how we look at the world. It’s just a shame that all the people who once burned draft cards and protested in front of the white house now spend most of the day sipping Starbucks in SUVs while listening to right wing talk radio and thinking of new ways to discriminate against smokers and other undesirables. Oh course that doesn’t stop them from celebrating the past. Take the play All Grown Up, which weaves together a story about the challenges faced in the 1960s and the iconic music that defines the time. Ex-60s radicals can go see the play and feel good about themselves before putting on their three piece suits in the morning and selling off their ideals for that nice new Mercedes. –P.B.
