X-Rated Liqueur

-Rated is Canada's newest French import. No, it's not porn, but it just may lead to you taking off your clothes. Rather, this is a new alcohol on your liquor store shelves. It's a mix of premium French vodka, blood oranges from Provence, and mango and passionate fruit juices (all organic of course.) The vodka is made from delicate French wheat and roseberry grain, and is seven-times distilled for smoothness.

The drink has been marketed to women, perhaps trying to jump on the tale end of the cosmo slurping left behind by an unmentionably dreadful movie. Marketing it as the "femme cocktail ingredient we've been waiting for," one would only by into that if you feel your drinks have been missing a hot pink liqueur (not to mention one which is sexist, and sugary.)

Regardless of what you think of the campaign or the taste of the alcohol, the slim pink bottle and contrasting white font, not to mention the fact that it says X-Rated all over it, (this is not something you want your parents to see you drinking,) stand out amongst those of JD and CC. But be forewarned, a fellow martiniboys.com drunkard referred to the drink as being one to cause a hangover requiring 6 Tylenol to alleviate

It goes for $39.55 and is available across the country. If you do purchase it, or receive it as a gift, try the X-Rated French Kiss, with equal parts X-Rated and Skyy vodka, served in a martini glass, with a drizzle of black raspberry liqueur. Or, the simple X-Rated Tickled Pink which blends the stuff with champagne. –C.S.
