Patrick Cox Designer Shoes
By Sylvonna Beech
hat do Elton John, Cate Blanchett, and Justin Timberlake all have in common? Well, they all happen to wear Patrick Cox designer shoes. If you’re just dying to look as sexy as JT, Patrick’s line of men’s shoes are now making a debut at Holt Renfrew.
Patrick Cox first launched his own shoe line in September of 1985, and was instantly popular with celebrities (and “normal” folks). In the 90’s he designed the Wannabe (perhaps inspired by the Spice Girls?), which was a remake of the Clarks Wallabee. In the realm of sleek and sexy footwear, the shoe was nerdy, which made it cool and distinguished Cox as an internationally-known shoe designer.
The fall collection is classic, timeless, and functional. The women’s line features almost all shoes with a chunky-but-funky heel. Fall in love instantly with the “Margot” soft leather knee high boots. Many of the shoes are so unique and eye-catching, wearing them will have people drawn down to your southern regions (a magnet for foot fetishists).
The men’s line finally hands guys a reason to shop. The loafers are classic but with a modern spin, such as blue patent leather. The boot line offers various flashy shoes- black or silver sequined ankle boots, anyone?
Guys who are sick of the same old shoes need to head on over to Holt Renfrew, which carries the men’s shoe line. Cox’s shoes are sure to spice up anyone’s boring tootsies. You may want to bring a female friend with you, just in case the thought of trying on those blue loafers make your palms sweat. And if worse comes to worse, bring me. Much like Patrick Cox, I’m completely obsessed with shoes and completely unashamed. –S.B. | Patrick Cox Designer Shoes
