Tramp Shower Gel
By Don Ellis
ush's distinctively green splash in the bath and body category is back to target a new generation. The signature shower gel, known for its pungent mossy scent, was introduced to the North American market years ago and was eventually discontinued. Many long-time Tramp users mourned the loss of the product. But our favourite little Tramp is back.
As riotous as its name, Tramp is a deep forest green, patchouli shower gel packaged in a modest signature green bottle. You'll no doubt be hesitant when you first approach the Tramp, being a murky green and all, but after your first forest green shower – lathering yourself into a green sudsy frenzy! – you'll be hooked in for good.
Tramp has a non-frilly, mossy green fresh outdoor scent, rather than incense, designed to clean and moisturize without drying the skin. It is not oily or greasy, and is made from 100 per cent natural ingredients: white horehound and balm infusions (a tension-relieving herb), oakmoss and patchouli. Admittedly - and really, quite obviously - you must be a fan of patchouli and not sensitive to scents, as the intensely herbal and woody scent does linger.
Lush's great achievement, among many, has been to turn the planet's natural viscera into the epitome of skin care. And Tramp, like Lush's other body, hair and bath products, are stamped with best-before dates and the name of the employee who packaged the item.
Tramp hits shelves Saturday, and will retail for $15.95 for an 8.4oz bottle.
