n this age we live in where going “green” is the hottest new feel-good trend, curator John Zeppetelli is sure to be a big hit. “Re-enactments,” John’s latest adventure, is a show of six artists’ various works that all recycle old already-been-done ventures. John calls the show “a belief in the fallacy of absolute originality” and says that like much media art, “all the works on display are loops locked in a prison of endless replay. If Oprah got her hands on Zeppetelli the public humiliation would be akin to poor James Frey’s, but, apart from Oprah, John seems to be right on track with his recycling theme answering to constantly borrowed art. Such a contemporary and focused base theory led John to seek out only the most appropriate pieces for this collection. See the works of Nancy Davenport, Stan Douglas, Harun Farocki, Ann Lislegaard, Paul Pfeiffer and Kerry Tribe to view new takes on labour laws, Michael Jackson as a child molester, globalization, the 2006 World Cup Final and Hollywood. –J.T.
