The Dyke March
Saturday June 28th
Operating as an annual appetizer for the Pride Parade, The Dyke March offers the ladies of Pride a chance to shine. So much of the week is dominated by guys, that it’s always nice to give the lesbians a chance to shine. The parade is kicked off by the honored Dyke (this year it’s Anna Willats) who leads the crowd from Hayden and Church to Church to Bloor, before heading West to Bloor and Yonge, then South on Yonge, and finally along East on Wood to Church. It’s not as big a spectacle as the Pride Parade…but what is? The march starts at 2pm.

The Pride Parade
Sunday June 28th
There are a few big events on this the final day of Pride Week, but none are as popular or famous as the Pride Parade. Huge floats fill the streets (last year Evil Dead The Musical filled a float with zombies and shot blood at the enthralled crowd), hundreds of people march (expect public nudity and plenty of outrageous costumes), and tourists come from all over to cheer on the participants. It’s an energetic and exciting spectacle that simply can’t be missed. Even if you aren’t a fan of Pride Week, everyone in Toronto needs to check out this parade at least once in their lives. The festivities start at 2pm.
