s much as rain gets hyped at the ultimate shower from Mother Nature, at the end of the day you go home soggy with the potential of extra acidity compliments of pollution. That’s not much to brag about. However, this spa, nestled within the Place d'Armes Hotel, offers plenty of relaxing and refreshing services that won’t have you feeling all washed up.

At Rainspa, guests are treated not just to a sauna and steam room on top of services, but access the hamman bath with an exotic aroma of steamy rosemary-scented luxury. Among the treatments featured at the spa are the usual massage variations, high-tech facial treatments, scrubs and an oxygenating flash peel. Problem area treatments such as the Cellulite treatment with VelaSmooth, employs a medical laser, radio waves and infrared light to fight that extra jiggle. Who knew it required NASA-like technology to restore your youth?

Though the hotel is big, and you enjoy what that entails - like a post-treatment al fresco meal - the spa itself is fairly small, so you enjoy a cozy, quiet experience that not even a hot chocolate on a winter’s night could top. –E.J.
