The shoe company, La Canadienne, has been around for over seventy years. Always located in Montreal and always true to its Canadian roots, La Canadienne is one of the few shoe-makers left in Montreal with any integrity. Those with a fetish for fine footwear (take that how you will) travel from near and far to get their hands on these warm and stylish boots and shoes. La Canadienne has refused to outsource over the years because they knew it would compromise the quality of their product. Plus, you just can’t trust a ten-year old to stitch good quality seams anymore (relax, relax, I'm only kidding!).
The La Canadienne shoe is made for Canadian winters. Their products are waterproof and come with a six month guarantee – which is good, because that’s about how long our winters last. The company is even keeping up with the environmental bend that is so prevalent these days by using recycled shoeboxes and eco-friendly dyes and protective agents. All this is old news, however. The new news is that La Canadienne has finally opened up their flagship store on Laurier Ouest, so there is no need to go hunting around other retailers in the city looking for your favourite model. The store is open just in time for Christmas too. Coincidence? I think not.
