ere you’ll find the kind of luxury designer menswear that you would in the pages of Esquire. The difference? No brand names. Kamkyl is owned by husband and wife designers Douglas and Yvonne Mandel. Growing up Douglas worked for his father as a tailor’s apprentice, then later graduated to work in senior design positions for such high-pedigree brands as Hugo Boss and DKNY. Now he can apply what he’s learned about menswear, but create by his own rules.

This chic boutique is just as impressive as the Old Montreal neighbourhood in which it’s located. The interior is pure minimalism, emphasizing the wood motif of the floors. Come here to rub elbows with all the most fashionable hipsters, urban bohemians, and young moderns. Or are those just all the same people?
