etro is, um, retro cool, and Ste-Catherine shoppers want to reminisce; specifically, they want to reminisce about 1970s sportswear. The new-ish Adidas Originals Boutique - the third in Canada - carries throwback gear from the three-striped Puma parent. You don't have to be Run or DMC to appreciate the allure of zipped-tight soccer jackets, stripe proliferation, and fedoras. Of course, you can't get fedoras at the Adidas Originals Boutique, but you can get other old-school favourites, including rubber-toed kicks. Furthermore, street-ready wear for non-athletes lines the shelves.

The shop is crisp and clean with white and baby blue aplenty, so dress accordingly (and, of course, utilitarian-ly). Also, listen for the rubber squeak. On a personal note, I've gone through at least 7 pairs of white-with-black-stripes Adidas Superstars and I intend to go through several more. I wish Jam Master Jay were here. -S.T.
