ontreal has no shortage of bookstores, nearly 150 to be exact (or nearly exact). Librissime, however, is definitely not Indigo. It is Old Montreal after all, so it has a definite European flavour to it. While walking by you can peer in through the arch shaped windows of the 19th century building. If something catches your eye and you decide to go in, you’ll be faced with over 12,000 books in English and French arranged by publisher (the European way).
And, as a bonus, Librissime specializes in rare and limited-edition books, so if you just have to have that 2nd edition Proust, or that rare Goethe, this right where you want to be. But if you’re looking for the Da Vinci Code or Life of Pi, perhaps you should try Indigo. A bit elitist, yes, but like I said, it's European. Definitely the place to go if you’re a dedicated bibliophile.
