Nothing says summer like a folk festival, especially an outdoor folk festival. Gently-strummed acoustic guitars and sun just go together. The Festival Folk sur le Canal isn't one to disagree. The event, which takes place along the Lachine Canal, presents a full lineup of BBQ, beer, and folk music from noon to 11:00pm. That's a lot of folk! If you can last the whole day, you'll be rewarded with performances from highly touted klezmer-rapper Socalled (just go with it) and Halifax's indie hero, Joel Plaskett. It's worth it. Festival Folk sur le Canal takes place today (June 27) behind the McAuslan Brewery.
