    Versace Designs A Helicopter
So you get up in the morning after sleeping on a beautifully upholstered Versace bed, put on your latest Versace suit and shades, jump into your Ferrari with Versace-designed interiors and drive over to your private helicopter and get depressed? Why? Because until that moment you’ve been able to drape yourself in Versace all day long and now you’re asked to go without the big V for the duration of a helicopter ride. Frankly, it’s too much torture to place on any man. The good people at Versace have come to realize this and they’ve decided to do you a favor. Versace will now be designing helicopter interiors.

Sure this seems like a titanic waste of money and resources that will only appeal to a very selective super-elite clientele, but that super-elite has been crying out for designer helicopters far too long. Sometimes it seems like everyone has a helicopter these days and you need a way to make yours stand out. The Milan-based fashion house knows this and will ensure that from now on that no insanely wealthy businessman will be forced to slum it in a factory-issue helicopter. It’s time for helicopters to get pimped. No more rust buckets with swirling propellers, now it’s all about style, class, and bling.

The Versace interiors are comprised of smooth black and white leather seats embroidered with the infamous Medusa head logo (you don’t want anyone traveling in your chopper to be confused about who designed the leather). It provides a sleek and cool look that’s pleasant to the eyes and the touch, without being overly showy. The custom designed interiors can be commissioned to fit most helicopters, but work best with the Agusta Westland choppers, made by the Italian defense and aerospace group Finmeccanica. These helicopters took over a year to produce and come with a price tag of $5-$6 million, plus interior design costs. So if you’re in the market for a helicopter (and with summer just around the corner, who isn’t?) there’s really no other choice. Be the envy of all the other CEOs in your neighbourhood. -PB, New Extensions
