Montreal Cooks

Diwali has already passed and Hanukah, Christmas, and Kwanza fast approach. In short: altruism season has arrived. Good deeds aren't just for fat men in red suits. Getting in on the ever-so-trendy giving spirit, Montreal's top chefs and restaurants have teamed up to benefit women's health.
The McGill University Health Centre has brought together the heroes of Montreal's haute cuisine scene to create a new cookbook: Montreal Cooks. The massive epicurean tome (200+ pages) amalgamates multitudinous tips, tricks, and dishes from over 25 of the city's best restaurants/cooks. With an emphasis on healthiness - though not in a fascist way, - the recipes will elevate your game beyond your stalled Mac and Cheese and Stir Fry repertoire while keeping you fit, Mother Theresa style.
All proceeds go to women's cancer treatment, so giving Montreal Cooks is like giving twice, which, in our culture of one-ups-man-ship, is always a bonus. Even if you decide to keep it for yourself, you're still helping. Now throw a dinner party and fight cancer, just like a gluttonous superhero. Available in French and English, you can find Montreal Cooks at most major bookstores or at 514-931-5656. -S.T.
