he Montreal High Lights Festival’s AirFrance Wine and Dine Experience (Feb. 21 - Mar. 2) presented by American Express has so many sponsors the name reads like a thirty second commercial spot. All sponsorship qualms aside, the festival has become the most respected food conference in North America. This year the featured city is Toronto with world renowned Chef Susur Lee acting as the Honorary President. Susur himself will be hosting a seven-course dinner on February 23rd where guests will have the pleasure of tasting the master chef’s Euro-Asian flavour blend.
This year marks the 400th anniversary of the homeland, Quebec City.

In honour of the great capital’s legacy the festival will start off with an orgasmic dinner prepared by five of the capital’s top French chefs; François Blais, Yves Chrétien, Yvan Lebrun, Stéphane Modat and Daniel Vézina. The big event takes place on February 22nd. Grab a seat at the table if you know what’s good for you.
Fifteen of Toronto’s top chefs will be entertaining in Montreal along with Susur Lee during the festival, including culinary superstar, Jamie Kennedy. Chilean wines are going to be featured throughout the festival and paired with the divine cuisines being dished out citywide.
Eating is one of the best activities out there, especially in the dead of winter, so take advantage of what Toronto has to offer. It may not be that Provençe specialty, but chances are you’ll be pleasantly surprised. –J.T.
