Day and Night: Montreal's Latest Hot Spots
Page 3 of 5
B-Side
You don't care about the single, you like what's under it: records weren't always for Urban-Outfitter-inspired wall decorations. Straying McGill students and other scruff-and-meander Montrealers fill this rock-ish lounge on a nightly basis. Expect a deep-beat-less shrug, loud-strum, and pick vibe. In the summertime, find a spot on the view-heavy roof-top terrace where you can discuss the ascent of the proletariat, Boomer failings or subversive pint-selection; because A-Sides are for sloths and philistines. 3616 Boulevard St. Laurent -S.T.
Benelux
At this great new craft brewery on Sherbrooke, the crowd is young and beautiful. To find the place, look for hipsters clouding out the front entrance with the sweet scent of cigarettes. Inside this Mcgill student housing building, a chill vibe pervades. Benelux also serves sandwiches and small appetizers to quell that uncool stomach rumble. 245 Sherbrooke Street West -M.O.
Station F
Nothing makes people hungrier than coal shoveling. Located near the train tracks - look both ways - Station F is a cool new French fare spot in the Plateau. With F, Franck Baudry and Francois Pouliot (the Fs) have managed to create an understated, elegant space that retains a tablecloth ethos while remaining easily affordable. 3240 Rachel Street East -S.T.
