    Buzz: New Toronto Restaurants
Just like those married couples who wrote about having sex every day for a year, even a seemingly fun exercise needs a little spice every so often. Think about going out to eat, it's often only exciting until you've been in the same position one too many times. In the midst of summer, it comes as no surprise that these new places set to make their mark on the city exude casual comfort, with a focus on fare which is less stuffy both literally and figuratively. Casual versions of upscale restaurants and new ventures entirely will stimulate your summer dining experience.

    Opening Soon

A well known Toronto figure, Chris Mcdonald has established himself as a sought after chef. Cava, the tapas bar at Yonge and St. Clair, has been McDonald's baby since 2006. Now, the restaurateur/chef is slated to expand his Cava empire with Xococava (1560 Yonge Street). Expect a smorgasbord of truffles, espresso and chocolate shots. Known for taking his craft very seriously, Mcdonald has been learning all about gelato making from Gelato Fresco's Hart Melvin. Word has it that a wall will be decorated with smashed china from Avalon's dinnerware. An expression of pent up rage perhaps?

The lavish Oasis Spa in the Distillery District is no more. Unable to capture the necessary clientele to keep up their fancy pants spa, they shut down the operation within 11 months. The space is currently being gutted and renovated to become Taste of Quebec (55 Mill Street, # 36), an everything that is Quebecois food shop. Head there for artisan cheese, terrines, pates, gourmet oils all from La Belle Province.
