American Idol, The Sopranos... The New TV Season Begins
    Page 1 of 2
January is the new September, or so says the bulging biceps of many a network TV exec. With shows either having been on hiatus since November, or making their season debut in the cool months of the Capricorn to ensure a full season run without the threat of reruns, January TV has Justin Timberlake’s name written all over it: sexy’s back baby! Here are some shows, new and old, worthy of tuning in for, whether they are a guilty pleasure, or just plain guilty.

    American Idol Season 6
Oh, how we love to watch people humiliate themselves and get called on it—or do we? This year, Idol will prove whether or not it still has the stellar legs (no, not talking about Paula’s stumps) it had from last year via booming ratings by sticking it to the amateur one more time when the crazies come out to sing. Sure, the show ends up narrowing it down to a medially exciting to dull 24 to compete for the tiara, or crown, depending—but the best part of Idol for me is the audition process, wherein William Hungers alike are blind to their own inept ability and think this is their chance to prove the naysayer's of the world were wrong about them; making us ever so much more right. FOX, Tuesdays/Wednesday, January 16th

    The Sopranos Season 6
This is it for Tony kids. The nine episode conclusion to the family’s June finale will see all things Soprano come to a definitive end, and you just know somebody’s gonna get whacked. Creator David Chase has no patience for tradition when it comes to developing his series and has been a frontrunner in breaking the stereotypes of what television is. That being said, I’m betting a certain wife is going to uncover some very critical information and may well do some whacking of her own - if she doesn’t get whacked first, that is (totally love saying “whacked”). HBO, April 8th, 9pm

    The Knights of Prosperity
Makes MTV maybe wanna rethink Cribs. When Eugene Gurkin sees Mick Jagger showing off his “assets” in one of those “let’s see the big star brag out his house” shows, he formulates the most insanely stupid yet brilliant plan ever and proposes it to his fellow blue collar pals: Let’s Rob Mick Jagger. With the crack team assembled, I’m more than certain Season One will be like an almighty Phase One of plot points and strategy given via the boys of Oceans 11…and I can’t wait. ABC, January 3rd, 9pm
