The club consists of three distinct areas, each with its own decor and particular ambiance. A spacious dance floor takes up the main room, while the Bamboo bar and a refurbished lounge provide sweat-respite. In the warmer months, one of the most popular features of the club is its rooftop terrace which has proven an irresistible draw for those eager to get out and enjoy a breath of fresh air while taking in a great nighttime view of the city.
The appeal of Unity stems from its continuing ability to attract a diverse and vibrant clientele. Although it is a vital part of the Gay Village’s cultural landscape, Unity remains open (I thought of writing, ‘Unity unites,’ but I realized how ridiculous that sounds); patrons are gay, straight, and everywhere in between. The club's trendy regulars flock here to indulge in a few drinks, enjoy the great music, and bask in the fabulous ambiance.
Unity's theme nights have long enticed partygoers. Wednesday, for example, is Pop Night (can you guess what the DJs spin?), while College Night Fridays lure the scholastic. Thursday’s gay and lesbian night has become Matchpoint. The guys get the main room, while ladies are in the Bamboo bar. It’s a great way to meet Mr. or Ms. Right (or Mr. or Ms. Thursday Night).
