Superfreaks can let loose at Unity II – Montreal’s biggest gay discotheque. Though Rick James won’t be present, his spirit can live on through his funky tunes where patrons of Unity II get down and dirty until the wee hours of Muscle Night – an evening dedicated to ‘80s hits. First of July fireworks from the terrace or a mini-makeout session in the corner is what the third-floor patio is all about. Those guys feeling all hot and bothered by the sexy young thangs shaking their booties on the dance floor but having little luck picking up inside might be able to swindle a sexy man into a heated conversation on the patio (and perhaps even after the bar). Come out for a cool down in the crisp night air and take in the sight’s from a bird’s eye view of MTL’s gay village.

This multi-level club has long been a favourite among young and hip club goers from all over Montreal. It's one of the Village's most popular watering holes and is situated a mere stone’s throw away from the Beaudry metro station.
Unity has been a fixture on Ste. Catherine Street for years. Unfortunately, this past summer it suffered a damaging fire that resulted in a brief closing. Unity has since undergone extensive renovations and, like the proverbial phoenix, has risen from the ashes, better than ever.
The club consists of three distinct areas, each with its own decor and particular ambiance. A spacious dance floor takes up the main room, while the Bamboo bar and a refurbished lounge provide sweat-respite. In the warmer months, one of the most popular features of the club is its rooftop terrace which has proven an irresistible draw for those eager to get out and enjoy a breath of fresh air while taking in a great nighttime view of the city.
