verything at Rare Bar & Grill screams classic Italian cuisine, right down to the last veal cutlet. But there are a couple tells that something is different here. First, the décor. The room has been adorned with clear Philippe Starke plastic chairs, (orange versions on the patio).

But take a look at the menu, nestled between Prosciutto di Parma and Sliders, is Rare's signature dish: Gnocchi Poutine. The Quebecois classic of so many youths, this seems almost sacrilegious and has led to some scuffles amongst the devout. But for the less traditional, fried gnocchi covered with cheese and swimming in veal gravy sounds pretty appealing. And they are basically substituting one form of a fried potato for another. Go decide for yourself whether you are traditional or adventurous at heart.
