While it’s impossible to find a definition for Le Vallier in English, allow me to translate the classy ambiance and high quality cuisine served at this new resto, just steps from Victoria Square.
Owner Valliler Dufour has melded the traditional French atmosphere with the sleek and crisp NYC interpretation of the brasserie to create a restaurant that serves not only the best in French cuisine, but also within a sexy, modernist atmosphere that the elite MTL foodie crowd has since swarmed. Snazzily dressed gentlemen and equally adorned ladies flock for scrumptious lunchtime sandwiches and cappuccinos, as well as equally delicious evening meals. –E.J.

4 Reader Reviews | I loved it, great for a business lunch, or a relax bite. Always packed for lunch, lots of atmosphere.
Also very good on thursdays but I would suggest you reserve first.
I will go back for sure!

This place is really what I like, A relax place where you can have great food all the time, a type of bistro where you can come anyday, well dressed or not, for a date or solo, for a friend dinner or a business lunch. For me it is a deluxe snack bar where you can eat a 15$ gourmet burger with a 65$ bottle of wine in a Riedel glass and a cotton napkin. A really comfortable and cozy place, Non pretencious service, no table cloth just relax. The menu is original, I wanted to taste every meal, It will be my spot in old montreal

Ate at La Vallier twice last week on a visit from Vancouver. Loved it. First night was buzzing when we arrived. Had a couple of glasses of wine at the bar and a charcuterie plate. Good value for both wine and food. Atmosphere when we first arrived was terrific, but happy hour must have ended because it quieted down pretty quickly.
Went back 2 nights later for dinner. The interior was almost empty but their few sidewalk tables were full. Not the same buzz as the first night. I've searched the net for their menu to find the names of the dishes we had. I had one of their traditional dishes -- a roasted beef almost like a stew. Very tender and tasty - exactly what I hoped it would be. Had a good bottle of red wine recommend by the waitress. Interestingly we had dinner at l'Europea the next night. The same wine was $20/bottle more!
I highly recommend it, especially when the happy hour special draws the crowds in.
