ood food and good service mark Le Jolifou as a decent restaurant where the staff are friendly and attentive.
The menu consists of a Mexican affair with a few French influences thrown in for good measure. Signature entrees include Grilled octopus with cumin flavored crema on a bed of mixed greens, cresson and frisee, Lamb shank with grilled cactus, Cornish game hen with mole and Salmon with a sauce of ancho chile and biere noire. Creamy walls and an open kitchen make for a warm and comfortable atmosphere and the fact that Mexican toys adorn the tables make you feel right at home. |

As a New Yorker of more than 25yrs & from a culture whose culinary history I consider the original fusion cuisine (Philippines - hybrid of spanish/chinese/american/southeastasian ingridients), I am rarely impressed by fusion reaturants, until my friends took me to JoliFou for my farewell dinner. Totally impressive food. Delightful tintillating tastes dancing on your palate...Its definitely NOT your usual fusion cuisine, you have to eat there to get it!
