I wouldn't be surprised to find 'dove' on the menu here, given the name. A neighborhood favourite, Montreal restaurant La Colombe is a risk on any given night: there is no à la carte menu, just a four-course table d'hôte every evening. A few different entrées are offered, and prices vary according to entrée chosen.

Still, if a restaurant has survived for almost 20 years, there's good reason for it, right?
Food may or may not include any one or more of the following: escargots in blue cheese; raviolis farcis au homard dans une bouillabaisse; crème de poisson au safran; saumon à Porange; mignon de porc au miel et aux épices; gigot d'agneau du Québec à l'infusion de thyme; tomato and tarragon halibut; fillet of duck in a fig and port sauce; and filet mignon au poivre vert.
Chef and owner Moustapha Rougabi reportedly gives classes in chocolate and pastries, and desserts are what keep people coming back. Among others, desserts might include a vanilla and passion fruit panna cotta; lemon pie; chocolate marquise made with Valrhona chocolate and served with vanilla crème anglaise; or a pear Bourdaloue tart.
Reservations are necessary; the small, 36-table restaurant only does two services a night.
