    Review by Lauren Denhartog
Bored with awe-inspiring presentation and meals that leave you longing for a late-night burger, Il Piatto Pieno is one of Montreal's most reputable trattorias - that breed of restaurant favored for its reasonable prices, ample portions and home-cooked splendour. This little gem opened in 2003 after its owner threw in the towel on an engineering career to pursue his culinary ambitions. Now he sings along with the live bands on Fridays and Saturdays.

This resto's simple menu of central Italian dishes attracts well over 1,000 diners weekly. A plethora of thin-crust pizzas make up the bulk of the choices but there is also plenty of antipasto, salads and of course, pasta. The rustic decor would not be complete without that badge of the Italian trattoria - the white and red checkered tablecloth. Oh and the best part: you can bring your own wine.

Guys, this place is super. The Pizza's are my favorite. I also love the tortellinis with rose sauce.

My suggestion if you go with friends:

    1. Get that BYOW opened, and enjoy it...

    2. Order Pizza and grilled vegetables, and Sausage as entries
This must be shared with friends, it will be more fun, and everyone gets to try everything.

So if you are 4 people, 1 Pizza (6 to 8 pieces), 1 Sausage (someone needs to take lead and cut it up in 4 pieces), and saem with vegetables.

    3. Sip more of that wine, and get ready for next bottle of wine to be openned

    4. Order Main Dish with Pasta. 1 Main Dish (Veal or Chicken) with Pasta can probably serve 2 people.
    Again, share this with gang...

    5. Relax, digest and finish off whatever wine is left

    6. Get some desert and share with friends

    7. Nice Cappucino to end it off

This place rolls, so you will need to have some patience, but rest assured it is worth waiting for :)

    Enjoy!

Nothing like the video. No singing, small cramped quarters. Food so so except for the pizza. Presentation not the best. Our main course came and we had not even finished our entree. When we asked our server to secure our table as it was very wabbly we were asked to fix it ourselves as they presented us with a book of matches to insert under one of the legs. Now that's not acceptable.
    Will definitely not return.
