the food and service is garbage, not fres at all

    1. Annick Papastratis's Review :: September 08, 2008

I will admit that the food was stellar, but the service was absolute garbage.

A group of seven people (myself and six friends) were treated as if we were common beggars yesterday evening (July 1, 2008). Here is the evening in all it's gory detail...

Four of us were seated as we were waiting on three more to join us. Unfortunately we waited about 45 minutes for them. During this time, we informed our waitress the more would be coming so we would like to hold off on ordering our meals until they arrive (we even gave an estimated time as to when they would show up).

Admittedly, we were off by 15 minutes. But I digress... The place was virtually empty when we were seated and only picked up when our friends arrived, again I will get to the point.

I ordered a Draft of Rickards Red (to show that we were in fact NOT freeloaders). Some time passes and our waitress drops off two peices of bread, not to wicker bowls... Two peices, for four people.

One of our friends arrives by this time. The waitress (which we will call "Lynne") stops by and I request another Rickards draft. My wife politely asks for another bowl of bread and that's where it starts...

We got us the nasty "stink-eye" and :"Uuuuhm... Hmmm... I suppose" and she walks off. About ten minutes later another waitress (not Lynne) plesantly drops off two bowls of bread (four peices now.. Woo-hoo). The other two friends arrive shortly after that. Within seconds, Lynne is at our table asking us if we are ready to order. We politely tell her that we need five minutes and she stalks off in a huff.

We all make our choices and in exactly 5 minutes she returns to take our order. I'm in the middle of a conversation with one of the friends and the next thing I know the table is knocked on... I look up to see Lynne staring me down as if I was a dog and she says acidly "You ready to order yet?"

I order a salad and the Pizze Americana.

The food arrives and strangely the friend sitting beside me does not have a fork, so she requests one from the waitress and the reply is... Wait for it... "I only have two hands."... Then ignored. We all stopped eating and waited for a bloody fork for about five minutes. Impatience set in and while I looked at another table to pilfer a fork, one of my friends got up and snatched one off a nearby table.

Throughout the meal, one of my friends asked for water, and more attitude was given. By this time our table was actually quite vocal about the trashy service; someone must have mentioned something to Lynne because near the end of the meal, she was acting sickly sweet.

    We ask for our bills.

Ahhh, now the discussion as to what the tip was going to be... She returns with our respective bills (we all paid seperately). Near the bottom of the bill, there is a little note that was printed by the computer... "Service non inclus" Service not included (on the bill). You see some places automatically charge 15% gratuity on the bill, this place doesn't. Both charge for service, nor offer it.

But to emphasize it, she circled that on all our bills...

...Like school in the summertime.. No class.

Speak to the manager you say? Not happening, we were too livid we would have made a scene and guess what? It wasn't worth it. You know those little cards that restaraunts have that asks the client to rate the food/service with our comments and suggestions? Well, the whole table filled out one.

Less than complimentary. I pray management sees these cards. Total tip from 7 people? About $1.54 total. 2 cents from myself and my wife, two cents from a friend. A dollar from another. Fify cents from another, and nothing from the remainder.

I also hope we got our point accross, but it doesn't end there. I HIGHLY reccomend that people stay away from sitting down in this restaraunt. If you can get your food to go, please do, the food was excellent.

    Service was below garbage however.

What can I say, the food was terrible. We went with a table of about 15, 6 people were sick the next day. Need I say more...

I went with a friend for an early dinner. I ordered a pizza; they brought a reheated pizza from the day before. I think they reheated in the microwave; the tomato sauce had turned and the smell was nauseating. I did not say anything, I was so offended, although I had been a customer for 2 years I never went back.
