luny calls itself an Art Bar because it defies a simple label. On one level it’s a restaurant. The kitchen is orchestrated by Patrick Meausette, who also co-owns the Old Montreal restaurant, Titanic. The food is served cafeteria style, ordered from the counter but brought to your table. In terms of what kind of food they serve, Cluny again does not lend itself to simple classification; basically it’s a mix of Canadian and Italian in addition to whatever else they feel like making that day.
It’s open later on Thursdays to serve dinner and drinks. Finally, it’s a gallery for both exhibitions and happenings, so expect an arty crowd. Of course, they do allow bookings for special functions, which often include private parties. And in case you were wondering about the name, the unofficial mascot is a black pug named Cluny.
