    Like an Amsterdam brothel, this new(ish) Turkish restaurant has a large window displaying women hard at work. Unlike an Amsterdam brothel however, the chef-women in this window aren’t flashing anything inappropriate. If you do that here, the police might Avesta (do you think that that was a stretch? Maybe). - S.T.

    This is a really great place for home cooking. The mezes are wonderful...and served with freshly made lavash! The lamb is also quite good. Daily specials a good value. Manti is also highly recommended! Quite inexpensive!

    Great place. After been to Istamboul 3 years ago. I yearned for turkish food and saw Avista restaurant by chance while walking down the St. Catherine street. We ate there 3 times so far and the food is always good. Especially the home baked bread (baked in the window). My 3 year old daughter loves this bread. I love the turkish tea and desserts. The prices are really fair and they have a nice variety. I highly recommend this restaurant for a simple and nice meal.
