  his beloved and award winning play has been touring around since it’s triumphant premiere in London in 2004 and is finally making an appearance on the Miami theatre scene. Written by Connor McPherson, Shining City is a remarkable meditation on regret, guilt and confusion. The play is set entirely within the Dublin offices of a psychiatrist who himself has psychological secrets. Most of the performance is comprised of monologue delivered by the patient, but the emotional complexity of the character is so impressive that audiences are always riveted. You’ll never find monologues are boring again.
