  oe Satriani is one of those guitar virtuosos whose main audience is other guitar virtuosos, the type who regularly read Guitar World. Like Steve Vai or Yngwie Malsmsteen, his technique is extremely accomplished and impressive, but the music itself can be rather soulless and boring. But, if you're impressed by some excellent technical playing, it's even more impressive live. - R.T.
