Miami Galleries
n exclusively Miamian exhibit, Disappearances, Shadows & Illusions includes selections from local collectors and an assortment from the Miami Art Museum's growing collection. Meant to challenge the way the public views art, there is a prominent use of lights, and perspective to evoke a sense of impermanence and uncertainty. One work, titled A Friendly Reminder, shows the neon purple phrase "Death, it's closer than you think," with "Death" flashing on and off. How inspiring! -C.S.
