Location: 4441 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL
If you're a true foodie (a foodie that gets around) then you may have heard the name Hakkasan before. Hakkasan is one of the most acclaimed restaurants in a quickly-developing London culinary scene and is rated the 19th best restaurant in the world by Restaurant Magazine. It's only fitting that Fontainebleau, following its billion dollar renovation, will open North America's first incarnation of Hakkasan. As one of the most extravagant resorts in the country, Fontainebleau is aiming high.
The Miami incarnation of the Contemporary Chinese brand will be put into the able hands of Alan Yau, the same creator as the original London location. Cantonese recipes such as Sanpei Chicken Claypot and Jasmine Tea-Smoked Organic Pork Ribs will be updated with a modern American twist. The food is bound to be incredible, but it’s the setting that will blow you away. Set atop the spa building of the resort, the Christian Liaigre-designed dining area will offer views of the beach, the pool, and the al fresco patio. - R.T.
