 et's be honest: Miami's recreation industry revolves around its clubs and its hotels. It's only natural, then, that the hottest new restaurants will be contained within one of Miami's most glamorous and star-studded resorts. The Fontainebleau, already a premier destination for presidents, celebrities and filmmakers, is currently undergoing a billion dollar facelift. The best of the 11 new restaurants opening onsite will be Gotham Steak, a restaurant which unfortunately has nothing to do with batman.
The two-level 16,000 square-foot restaurant is Alfred Portale's baby. Portale, already chef and owner of New York City's acclaimed Gotham Bar and Grill, will bring New American cuisine to Miami Beach. The focal point of the menu, fittingly, will be steak, but there will also be elements of Italian, French, and Asian food in the extensive seafood selection, pastas, and impressive 500+ wine list. For those who like to peruse the wines before trying, they will all be enclosed within a glass wine tower underneath the giant chandelier constructed of hand-blown glass.
